A New Baby Girl

More babies - this time of the pink variety! A quick card was required for a new little person who arrived early...

The digi is from my usual haunt - the Digistamp Boutique. The image is coloured using pastel promarkers and I've decorated with die-cut flowers.

I've entered this card into the current challenges at:

Kaboodle Doodles - pastel colours
Sentimental Sundays - for the girls
Oh La La Creations - welcome little one

Bye for now

Less Is More... Happy Birthday Jen

The challenge at Less Is More this week is to make a CAS birthday card for one of the designers, Jen. While sorting my punches recently I found this fab butterfly punch I haven't used in ages.

The patterned paper is from my snippets box and I've finished off with red gems for the 'body'.

Thanks for lookin'

Birthday Sketch

I was greatly inspired by this week's challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches - nice and symmetrical with no odd squiggles!

I chose my colours from the current challenges at Papertake Weekly and Without Words - HOT colours.

I wanted the colours to jump out so I used a plain white embossed background. The cake is a chipboard piece I got with a magazine years ago and compliments the colours from the spotty paper

Bee-lated birthday

It's theme week at Less Is More and the challenge this week is to use hexagons...

I don't have any hexagon dies - it's a simple tale of internet shopping while enjoying a couple of glasses of wine and getting hexagons mixed up with octagons.

I improvised by using a hexagon shaped digi and printing it directly onto some lovely bee papers that came free with a recent issue of Creative Cardmaking and the bees are part of a digi from Birds Cards

Cheers Blue !

I seem to be making loads of male cards at the moment as well as my orders for Father's Day cards - today's offering is an order from a work colleague - a 50th birthday card for a man who loves socialising with the nickname 'Blue'...

I've used a navy blue base card with some lovely checked paper from my stash. The image is 'Alf with beer' from the Digistamp Boutique. I'm not sure what prompted me to do the doodled border but once I started it was hard to stop.

I've entered this into the current challenges at:

Papertake Weekly - Hello Boys
Fab 'n' Funky - Birthdays
Crafting for All Seasons - One for the Guys

Oscar's christening

A work colleague requested a Christening card for a baby boy who is due to be Christened this coming Sunday...

I've used a pale blue base card and added a smaller embossed square of white card on the front. The crucifix was traced from a template and hand cut with a pale blue matted border. I've added ribbon across the centre of the cross and kept embellishments to a minimum with a single gem in the centre.

I've entered this card into this week's challenges at:

Here Come The Boys - use ribbon
CAS On Sunday - make it masculine
Really Reasonable Ribbon - masculine with ribbon

Dad's Ties

Only two weeks to Father's Day so in between orders I'm busy making various dad related cards for my box at work. I've seen a number of versions of this card all over blogland - it's a cute Dad card with a corny play on words for the greeting...

I've entered this into the following challenges:

Less Is More - the colour of your front door (boring brown UPVC!)
Stampin' For the Weekend - Monochrome
Totally Papercrafts - anything goes

The digi stamp is from Digistamp Boutique and the greeting is typed in ConcursoModerne BTN Lt font. The papers are ancient - from Dovecraft's Abstract Prints pack in various shades of brown.

Another wet day here up North - off now to buy some glam wellies for next weekend's shenanigans when we go to see the Stone Roses in Finsbury Park - best be prepared for mud!

Thanks for stopping by...
