Good Luck at School

A friend at work is also a child minder and one of the children she looks after is due to start school in September - here's a 'good luck' card I made for her...

The cute schoolgirl image is an old one from Digistamp Boutique and I created the border of pencils in Publisher - both are coloured with pro-markers.

Jurassic World

A quick share today - a card with a Jurassic theme for my friend's little boy Oscar...

I found the film logo on line and printed it and mounted it using foam pads. The papers are from my stash - from packs from Lidl or Aldi.

I had a party hat digi that I coloured, fussy-cut and stuck artistically (!) on the dinosaur's head. the greeting was printed using a Jurassic font.

It didn't take long but works well for a dinosaur mad soon-to be 8 year old.

A Great Big Thanks

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my friend's son to give to his teacher...

The apple patterned paper and the pencil and apple images came from an old issue of Making Cards magazine. The letter stickers have been in my stash for at least 10 years - a couple weren't the right colour so I coloured over the original colour with pro-markers.

Butterflies and Gingham

I've recently purchased some shaped border dies and decides to have a bit play about...

I used some pretty coral gingham patterned paper for the bottom half of the card and used a matching pro-marker to colour some scraps of card to die-cut the butterflies. The greeting was made in Publisher using white font against a black background. I've also added some thin silver peel-off strips and some flat-backed pearls.

Simple Masculine Doggy Card

I needed a distraction from the tension of the football tonight, so made a start on using some fabulous doggy images and papers that came with the April issue of Making Cards magazine.

How cute! I love that the dogs are wearing specs!

14th Birthday - Spots and Stripes

I was asked to make a simple card for a friend to give her son on his 14th birthday - 'nothing fussy - just a big number - his favourite colour is red'...

I do like an easy task...

I created the big numbers in Microsoft Publisher, printed them back to front on the back of the striped patterned paper then carefully cut out. They were mounted on red paper then carefully cut out again to give a border. I mounted the numbers using foam pads on to a spotty patterned paper fro the same pad. The greeting was also created in Publisher.

Very simple but as the base card is 8 x 8 inches it will really stand out.

Pink Stripes and Flowers

Today I was greatly inspired by the Muse challenge:

Pink and green is probably my favourite colour combo and I loved the strrpes and green border. Here's what I came up with:

I loved the way Ardyth created the pink stripes on her card, so I created my own with a ruler and a pale pink pro-marker. This ensured that the stripes were the same colour as the flowers - a lovely digi image from The Digi Stamp Boutique. The green die-cut borders imitate the green leaf border on the inspiration card and to finish off I added some tiny pearls to the flower centres.
