I don't like peel-offs! I really don't. I think they can make a lovely card look totally naff, especially when a peel-off greeting is stuck on. But when I found these peel-off baubles in a bargain bin in my local craft shop for 10p it would have been rude to leave them there!
I've kept to my usual CAS style but in the flesh it looks very shiny! I've used heavy linen card for the base which I think help gives a classier feel. I may go back to it in a couple of days and add a diamante to the middle of the star and some tiny bows to the top of the strings but I'm pleased so far with the overall feel of it.
I've entered this card into the following challenges:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge - a card for someone special
Try It On Tuesday - Christmas Sparkle
Little Claire's - Christmas
Order of the Opus Gluei - more than one layer

I feel the same about peel offs (although when I first started cardmaking I used them a lot) but you've certainly used your bargain ones to such good effect - very elegant card - thanks for joining my CHNC challenge 100 - hope to see you again soon x
ReplyDeleteI have used the rude not excuse so many times! beautiful simple, classic card, thank you for sharing it with us at TIOT.EE
ReplyDeleteWow, you've really made something special out of those dime-store embellishments we see all the time! It's so sparkly! Thanks for sharing your talent with us at Opus Gluei!!
ReplyDeleteGreat little Christmas card, thanks for joining in our challenge this month over at Little Claire's, good luck! Heidi x
ReplyDeleteYou have created such a clean, elegant card here - anything BUT naff. I think it works so well because you made the card CAS and used the thick cardstock, the stickers look chic as a textural embellishment. Great card and just wonderful for our Opus Gluei 3-D challenge! Hope you come back and check us out on our next challenge!
ReplyDeleteYour baubles are fab. Sparkly but classy. x

Your pretty and elegant caught my eye and your sentiment brought a little tear to my eye too. I have for very many years been living in the south, where they don't say 'mam' but your card reminded me of my own parents, now gone. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove your classy approach to the Christmas theme! What a great beautiful card! Thank you for playing along with us at TIOT this time!
