Today's card is for a work colleague to give to her Grandson for his 21st birthday - the brief was to make something in navy and aqua - the colours of his Sunday morning football team! I've used a navy card base with aqua star embossed card with white matting. The silver star has also been embossed with a random square folder, Finally I've added die cut navy numbers and a wavy line die under the star.
I was greatly inspired by the gorgeous colour combo today at The Paper Players:
I love using pink anyway but the added red white and black go so well together! I decided to make a feminine birthday card to add to my box at work...
The flower dies are very old - Marianne Designs I think and the black hexagon trellis die is an unbranded one from China. The greeting was created in Publisher and to add a bright pop of white i used some white Card Candi in the centre of the flowers. I don't make many Valentine cards - mostly because I only have one other half! I came across some lovely NitWits toppers and papers in a very old card magazine which went perfectly with a kraft base - and weren't too girly...
I added a dark red border to the lovely NitWits backing paper and I mounted the die-cut topper using foam pads. Using the same dark red patterned paper, I added some strips in each corner. I've kept the design very simple, using only a button to embellish. I've left the soppiness for inside the card! I'm playing along with the challenges at: C.R.A.F.T.
