New Home

 Today's card is to give to a friend who is about to move house...

What I've used:

Image - Digistamp Boutique

Coloured with - Deco Time Aqua markers

Papers - The Range

Fence die - Sissix

Line edged die - The Range

Greeting - Claire Hand font

It's a simple design but I've added the fence and some black peel-off dots to add a bit interest. I've also fussy cut another image of the middle house and mounted it on foam pads to add depth.

A New Home

Today's card is for a friend who is about to move into a new home...

I've used a very old black peel-off from Little Claire's (who appears to be no longer operating :-() I've coloured the image with Pro-markers and mounted it onto some sparkly black squiggle patterned paper from The Range. I've added some tiny key stickers and a greeting from the same peel-off sheet.

New Home

Today's card is for a colleague at work who is about to move into her first home...

I used one of my favourite house digis from Digistamp Boutique - they are so cute and a dream to colour. My colour scheme was inspired by the challenge this week at Sweet Stampin' TOP 3!

and also by the mood board at Double D Challenges

I used some pastel patterned papers from a pack from The Works, some pale coffee-coloured lace and some heart-shaped pearls coloured to match.

Through The Window

Today's card is one requested by a friend at work - a 'Happy New Home' card for her parents.

I bought some die-cut window frames and boxes a while ago at a craft fair and they have been sitting unloved in a bits and bobs box - this seemed the ideal opportunity to use them. I used a brick pattern I found via Google as the background and coloured this with pro-markers. I then 'built up' the window using a grey pice of card for 'inside' the house and a cut doily for the curtains.

The flower box was decorated using punched leaves in various shades of green and some pink gems shaped as flowers that I've had for years. Finally, I added the sun shade and printed a greeting using Copperplate Gothic font.

Home Is Where The Heart Is..

Today's card is for a friend who has just moved to a new house. I've dug around in my craft room and found some very old Kanban images and papers to produce this...

I've used a scalloped 7 inch base card and matted the patterned paper that came with the die cut images onto some black card. I've mounted the house die cut onto some cream then black card and added some flowers as 'bushes'. The greeting is some word art I've had for years and I've added a cute heart button to compliment the sentiment.

Little Claire's New Home

A while ago I bought some Little Claire peel-offs at a craft fair that until today have sat in the bag I carried them home in! Now I'm not normally a lover of peel-offs - they can look a bit 'cheap' -  but the sample cards I saw at the craft fair looked really professional so I succumbed...

I'm pleased with the result. I did worry about colouring the smaller parts of the image because I don't have the steadiest hands when colouring but it was really easy to colour.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

I'm back refreshed after a week away from the craft room and what better way to get my creative juices flowing than a visit to the Ross Papercraft fair at Rainton Meadows today. I came away with loads of bargains - lots of new dies, a mountain of paper and card and a bag full of new embellishments, toppers and kits.

I've used some new Kanban stash to make today's card...

Aren't the wooden hearts adorable - they are my new favourite embellishment. A couple of friends got married a few weeks ago and the tables were decorated using loads of these tiny wooden hearts - I asked if I could have a few for my cards and at the end of the night I was presented with a huge bag of them! Apparently they were going to be thrown away - the horror!

Colourful Houses

Hello!

Just a quick post as it's way past bedtime! Today's card features my favourite digi for new house cards from Digistamp Boutique...

The unusual colour scheme was inspired by the current challenge at Colour Throwdown:

 

I've fussy cut then coloured the image with promarkers and made the greeting using Smell The Roses font.

New Beginnings

Morning folks...

It was my turn to host the challenge this week at Totally Papercrafts and as we have just started a brand new year, I chose the theme of 'New Beginnings'. Take a look over there - there's a fabulous prize from Alota Rubber Stamps and some lovely work produced by my talented team mates...

I need a new home card for a work colleague who has just bought her first home and came up with this...

The house is a very cute digi from Digistamp Boutique and the greeting is a digi by Annie's Little Footprints. The clouds and sun were free digis found on the internet and I drew the tree myself. The papers are from my scraps box.

Little Pink House

Today's challenge at Less Is More is the colour PINK. I needed a new home card for someone at work so using one of my favourite Digistamp Boutique images I came up with this..

Back to the Christmas cards now - I have about 50 to make before the end of November. Why didn't I start them in June???

Pink Wallpaper

I love making cards using freebies!  Today's card started life as a wallpaper sample - I am always popping into decorating shops and getting samples that look as though they can be used on cards. I think this stuff is called anaglypta (sp?) or at least that's what my mam calls is - the stuff that adds texture to walls then you paint over it in whatever colour you fancy...

After matting a piece of the wallpaper on some pink card I painted splodges using paint samples and also painted some heavy paper in the same colours. Once dry, I carefully cut the paper and rolled it to make paint rollers - the handles are made from wire and tiny pieces of that rubber tubing kids make bracelets with - Scoobydoos I think thay are called.  Voila - a perfect clean and simple new home card.

Knickers...

I've been quite busy over the last couple of days making cards for various occasions.

The bra and knickers card is quite cute and great for teenagers. The papers are from DCWV's teen Mat Stack, which has some lovely papers in it.

The New Home card with the paint rollers on is one of my favourite cards to make. I use scraps of embossed wallpaper painted with test pots and use the same paint on a scrap of paper to make the tiny rollers. The handles on the rollers are made with pieces of wire inside bits of Scoubie Dous (those plastic string things that kids play with)


Does anyone else get requests to make individual cards for people with very specific themes, eg 'I need a card for my second cousin who is 28 and likes bungee - jumping dressed as Mr Blobby'? I was quite stumped at first when a colleague asked me for a card for her great-gran who is 90 and likes shoes, hats and handbags and everything pink. I'm still a bit unsure about my final attempt...

The glitter stars and little flowers don't show up very well but I'm really pleased with the handbag.
