What Day Is It?

So we're at that strange time of year where all the meals blend into one and nobody knows what day it is! I've started to play with some of the goodies I bought in the sales - I'm very taken with these lovely shiny patterned papers from the Papermania Geometric Mono pack - ideal for New Year cards...

I've added some die cut numbers in gold mirri-card and the greeting used up some very old peel-off letters.

There's not many challenges currently going but I've managed to enter this into:

4 Crafty Chicks - anything goes
C R A F T Challenge - anything goes
Southern Girls - anything goes
Time Out Challenges - inspired by words (new)

Pink Deer

Just about finished the Christmas cards for this year - I've told my customers at work to expect a huge box arriving on Monday, so I'm busy at the moment doing the inserts.

Today's card is one such order - something pink and girly for a colleague's sister...

I've used that gorgeous deer die again - this time using some pink sparkly patterned paper. The papers are from many years ago - Trimcraft's Xmas Blue collection. I've also used some punched snowflakes and the tiniest red gem for the deer's nose. The greeting was created in Publisher using Hobo font.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

My Time To Craft - Christmas animals

A quick post tonight - I can almost see the light at the end of the Christmas card tunnel so I must get on! As you can see, the cards are getting simpler!

The digi, coloured with pro-markers, is an old favourite from Digistamp Boutique. The paper is from a pad bought at The Range. The greeting was created in Publisher using The Urban Way font and I've used a die-cut snowflake and a tiny wooden heart as embellishments.

Gold and Pearl Bauble

Another vist to Lidl and this time I bought some of the washi tape in gold patterns...

I used a lovely white linen card as the base and added strips of washi tape along the bottom. The bauble die (Diesire) came free with a magazine last year , as did the corner die (Craetive Dies). The bow die is part of a bauble die from Memory Box. I've created the greeting in Publisher (Formal436 BT font) and added a number of flat-backed off-white pearls as embellishments.

Snow Cousins

My craft room is like Santa's grotto - there seems to be glittery bits everywhere!

Happy Saturday to you all - the other half has gone to Blackpool for the weekend - something to do with beer - so myself and the fur baby have spent all day playing with paper.

This is for one of my Christmas orders...

These digis have been around a while - I got them from the Digistamp Boutique years ago. I coloured them using pro-markers then fussy cut them. I've used pale blue polka dot paper for the background with a red border and added some flower-soft snow. Finally, I've added a die-cut snowflake and two pale blue pearls as embellishments.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

A Gem of a Challenge - snowmen/women
Allsorts Challenge - anything Christmas

Deer Nephew

I have tried to make today's card quite masculine - it's for an 18 year old boy - a very difficult age to create for! I've moved away from traditional colours and cutesy images and used a very proud-looking deer die-cut I got at a recent craft fair (a bag of 10 for a pound!) he was originally kraft coloured but I coloured him using a black pro-marker to match the base card.

The patterned paper came from a pad I bought at Pound World/land/whatever! They often stock some really useful crafty items and basics such as coloured card, gems and double sided tape.

I've mounted the die onto some dull gold embossed backing paper using foam pads and added a pearl coloured with a red pro-marker for his nose. The greeting was created in Publisher using The Urban Way font.

I've entered this card into the current challenges at:

Dream Valley Challenges - Winter animals
Crimbo Crackers #120 - anything goes
Creative Moments #107 - anything goes
Penny's Paper-crafty Challenge #305 - anything goes

Scandinavian Christmas

So, whilst picking up a few treats for the office yesterday lunchtime in Lidl, I came across these lovely Scandinavian patterned washi tapes. I just love this look and using my current favourite deer die, I made this...

Using some lovely linen textured card for the base,  I simply added the tape in strips, created the greeting in Publisher and finished with a tiny red gem on his nose - just like Rudolph!

Fast Cars... For Small Boys

Happy Friday everyone!

There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft today...

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in. Today's sponsor is Di's Digis - a lovely store to pick up some seriously cute digital stamps...

I'm mostly making Christmas cards at the moment so it was nice to have a break and make this 2nd Birthday card for a friend at work whose nephew loves racing cars....

The two papers are digital, bought some time ago from an Etsy shop very cheaply but have been used on many occasions making them very good value! I've created the greeting in Microsoft publisher and the number is a die-cut in red glittery card. To hide where the papers join I've used a strip of lime green ribbon.

I've entered this card into the challenges at:

Moving Along With The Times - die-cut letters or numbers
Mod Squad Challenge - use ribbon

Rocket Santa

I'm well under way with this year's Christmas cards now but there seems to be glitter catching my eye all over the house in this winter sunshine!!

Here's a card a friend requested for her son created with a fabulous Santa in a Rocket Sleigh decoupage from I think Kanban.

I've mounted the decoupaged topper onto some snowflake backing paper and added a greeting made in Microsoft Publisher using Hey Pretty Girl font. Finally I've added some co-ordinating grosgrain ribbon and a variety of die cut snowflakes with a central gem.

I'm entering this card into the 'anything goes' challenges at:

Fast Cars...For Big Boys

Today's card was an order from a work colleague who wanted a card with a Ferrari theme for an upcoming  21st birthday.

I found the image on the internet and printed three copies so I could create a decoupage effect. I then found an outline of the Ferrari emblem which I coloured with pro-markers and added die-cut nymbers. The sentiment was done in Publisher and I've used some black and silver Card Candi as embellishments.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Glitter 'N' Sparkle - one for the men
Allsorts Challenge - time/clocks/numbers
