I needed to make a birthday card for a young girl and not getting any inspiration from my digi images or decoupage sets, I resorted to an idea I haven't used in a while...
I've printed her name backwards on the back of the patterned paper, cut it out then matted the letters on pink paper and carefully cut around the patterned paper letters to make a border. The letters are attached to the base card using foam pad then I've added random flower stickers and gems. The butterfly is punched and I've added coloured paper that can be seen through the negative areas and amber coloured gems. The greeting is a peel-off coloured with a dark brown pro marker.
I've entered this into the following challenges:
Allsorts Challenge Blog - Happy Birthday
Celebrate the Occasion - Use a butterfly
Songbird Challenge - All creatures great and small

Relax on Father's Day.
I always get lots of orders for Father's Day so I'm on making a batch to take into work. As I'm trying to use up my crate (yes, one of those stacking crates full of 'bits') I added a couple of tiny bits of patterned paper which is something I wouldn't normally do with a CAS card but I think I get away with it here! Actually, the pattern reminds me of the socks that dads wear!
I can't remember where the image is from - probably a freebie vintage site.
I've entered this into the following challenges:
CAS-ual Fridays - red, white and blue
CAS on Sunday - make it masculine

Facebook - love it or hate it? I must admit I've been on it for years now. I've had a farm, a cafe, have played Bejewelled Blitz for hours, am addicted to Song Pop and I'm currently stuck on level 86 of Candy Crush. I do have a life - honest!
Today's card for the 'humour' challenge at Less Is More would be great for anyone who hasn't yet succumbed!
I found the image on the internet - I love the retro feel to it. To keep it simple all I've done is paper-pieced her dress and used the same paper for matting.

Another Baby Girl Card
Hopefully this is the last baby card for a while! I have an abundance of off white slightly glossy card that I am trying to use up so I went for lots of layers on today's card. The base is cut to 6in x 6in with a swiss dots embossed layer then the die cut octagons on top. The image is from a set of lovely pre-coloured images by Ruth Watkins for Craft Creations - the hearts are tiny embellishments, also from the same sheet.
I've finished it off with a white gossamer bow and a computer printed greeting in Candy Round BTN font.
I've entered this into the current challenges at:
Let's Craft and Create - Die cuts
Moving Along With The Times - Embossing
Creative Card Crew - white on white but the image can be coloured (mine's off-white!)
Bye for now

Sweet Baby Girl
It must be the season for babies - I seem to have made loads of new baby cards lately. This one is made using a gorgeous digi from Digistamp Boutique's Simply Baby collection. I've paper pieced the digi with some lovely pink spotty paper by Sweet Memories I got free with a magazine.
I've entered this card into the following challenges:
In The Pink - Maybe Baby
Crafts and Me - Use a digi
Crafting For all Seasons - Think Pink
Southern Girls - going spotty dot
I had a great morning at the Ross Papercrafts show at Nissan - got loads of bargains and a Cheery Lynn leaf flourish die I had been after for ages - the simplest things make us happy don't they!

Bon anniversaire!
It's a horrible day here in the north east of England - very wet and windy. I've spent all morning on my computer sorting digis into some sort of order and I came across one of the cutest digi images I have ever seen by the wonderful Kirsty Wiseman - very CAS as usual - just coloured with pro markers and fussy cut:
He's called Pierre - isn't he sweet! His French outfit prompted me to use a French birthday greeting
I've entered this into the following challenges:
Less is More - Cats or dogs
Addicted to CAS - Birthday

Butterfly Birthday Wishes
I love today's sketch at Fetch a Sketch and I couldn't wait to have a go:
It's nice and symmetrical - just what I like! I finally used some gorgeous papers and die cuts from Craftstyle that came free with Creative Cardmaking last July that I found in a tidying up session!

Sweet Baby Boy
It's one layer week at Less is More and the challenge from Chrissie and Jen is to use a coloured card blank. Not being a stamper, I knew I would have to use a digi rather than white ink on a dark background therefore I would have to use fairly light coloured card. I do wish someone would invent white computer ink!
This is what I came up with:
The digi is an old one - the file is called 'rusty pickle baby shoes'. I changed the colour of the digi in Publisher and used a lovely font called homemade apple for the greeting. I've coloured the image using the palest blue pro marker and highlighted the laces using white gouache and a cocktail stick!
Enjoy the weekend folks

Birthday Candles
I've had such a busy week with work and home stuff that I haven't had a chance to make a card since last weekend - I'm sure I have withdrawal symptoms! Today's card is a real quickie to get me back on track.
Inspired by the Clean and Simple challenge at Moving Along With The Times and the code word 'rainbow' at Addicted to CAS I came up with this:
Seven punched candles in the colours of the rainbow and a computer printed greeting - it took all of 10 minutes to make and the most time consuming part was lining up the candles. Too clean and simple? I guess I just love white space!

Too Much Pink??
Today's card is for my Niece, Lucy, who is coming up 5. Like any little girl she adores pink - everything has to be pink!
The patterned paper is very old - it came with a magazine about 6 years ago. I created a number 5 outline in Publisher, printed it onto the back of the paper and hand cut it. I then matted it on pale pink paper and attached it to the base card using foam pads. The butterflies are old DCWV rub-ons and I've finished off with tiny punched flowers and diamante gems.
It's far too over-embellished for my liking but I know she'll love it!
I've entered this into the following challenges...
Creative Inspirations - Birthdays (Happy 5th birthday!!)
Divas By Design - add a number
Fab n Funky - Lots of Pink
Shopping Our Stash - all about numbers
Crafting For All Seasons - monochromatic
