300 Days to Christmas!

Morning All

What a cheery thought - only 300 days to go to Christmas...

Well the theme over at Totally Papercrafts this week is 'make it shine' so I took this opportunity for my design team card to make my first proper Christmas card of the year! This week's fabulous sponsor is:

There's some lovely makes for your inspiration by my talented team mates so take a look around - one click and you're there!

Here's what I came up with:

I managed to catch the shine of the papers quite well in the photo - it really is bright! The die-cut bauble is from a pre-cut sheet by Kanban and the snowflake paper was found in Lidl supermarket! It's for my friend's daughter who loves anything shiny and pink!

I've entered this into the challenges at:

In The Pink- pink and 1 other colour (silver)
52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown - use metallic papers

13th Birthday

Just a quick post today - we have our 5 year old niece, Lucy, for the weekend and she's intent on making pictures using Auntie Sharon's punches and gems...

Fabulous child - give her some paper bits and some glue and she's happy for hours!

My card is for a young work colleague to give to his sister. I've had these papers for years - they came free with a magazine.

I've picked up the brown colour in the spotty ribbon and die cut the numbers using the striped paper turned horizontally

I've entered this card into the challenges at:

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge - spots and stripes
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - lots of layers
Papertake Weekly - lovely layers

Off to the park now... then the Lego movie at the pictures! A totally different Saturday for me.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday

You Rock!

Todays card uses the fabby freebie I got some time ago from Birdie Brown (who I don't think does freebie digis anymore - sorely missed!) - he's such a cutie with his flying V guitar and shades.

I've coloured him with pro markers, fussy cut around him and mounted him on a die-cut star - the star theme is very prominent in this card!

I've entered this card into the challenges at :

Less Is More - masculine
The Paper Players - CAS with stars
CAS on Sunday - masculine
CASology - bold

Be My Valentine

What other theme could there be at Totally Papercrafts this week than...

Valentine / Love

There's also a fabulous sponsor in the form of Milk n Coffee  - take a look at their gorgeous digi images - seriously cute! There's also some marvellous creations from my talented teamies. Pop over and join in with our theme this week - I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

My card today is for my other half. Most years he gets a shop bought card (oh the shame!) as I'm so busy doing orders for other people but this year I had a spare half hour to make this...

The patterned paper is seriously old - I got it with a magazine about 6 years ago. The image is also an old freebie from Limited Runs. I've fussy cut the digi and mounted it on a heart embossed background and finished off with a greeting that came with the papers.

I've also entered this into the challenges at:

Paper Crafting Journey - love is in the air
Stampin with the Dragon - love is in the air
Crafting For All Seasons - show us some romance
The Male Room - valentine

Something Fishy

I've had a really slow Internet connection this week due to the adverse weather so this is the first chance I've had to post a card since the weekend - good job the Olympics are on to keep me occupied. It's a request from a work colleague to make a 40th Birthday card for her kids to give their dad who's a Fisherman - I do get the strangest requests!

I remembered some old digi images I had by Cuddly Buddly called Country Gents and came up with this...

I've fussy cut the fisherman and used the patterned papers that came with the images as background. The number was made in Publisher by overlaying Word art numbers onto a snippet of the digital paper.

I've entered this into the current challenges at:

Without Words - occupations
Crafty Cardmakers - this is a man's world
Cute Card Thursday - clever cutting

One Layer Butterfly

Afternoon all

It's one layer week at Less is More today and Chrissie has given us free rein with the 'anything goes' theme...

I needed to make a  card to send a message of encouragement to a friend who is having a bit of a bad time at the moment and ended up using an old favourite - this gorgeous butterfly digi from TLC.

The colour scheme was inspired by the current challenge at Keep It Simple! - use tropical colours... so for the butterflies I've used the bright hues of tropical flowers and added few minuscule gems for a bit of bling.

The other half is out at the football so I'm enjoying the TV to myself - Olympic figure skating and a huge bar of chocolate - bliss!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Shopping Queen

Today's card is for a young lady called Amy who loves shopping - what better image to use than this cutie - it's called Lydia Goes Shopping and it was a freebie from Little Claire Designs. Sorry about the crappy photo - it was taken on my desk at lunchtime as I'm never at home when it's light enough to take pics!

I've coloured the image with pro markers and fussy cut around it. The backing paper is old - it's from a pack called 'Glamour' from Trimcraft.

I've entered this into the current challenges at:

Through The Craft room Door - anything goes
Addicted To Stamps and More - anything goes
Lacy Sunshine Challenge - use a sentiment

Thanks for looking

CAS Congratulations

Nothing worse than when you see a challenge theme, think 'oh yes' then are totally stumped over what to do! This happened when I saw this week's challenge at Less Is More...

Our colour challenge for this week is
RAINBOW

I cannot believe this challenge is now three years old! I can't remember a Saturday without it - definitely one of my faves.

So I knew I wanted to do something with spots. I had a bit play about with different coloured spots in Publisher and came up with this..

I'm not feeling any love for this creation at all - gonna have another go at this as I hate to be beaten by such a wonderful theme!

'til later
