Boy Racer

Another masculine birthday card for my box...

The sports car topper and patterned paper came from an old issue of Making Cards Magazine. I fussy-cut the image and mounted it on a slate grey background using foam pads. I cut a strip of patterned paper and matted it on larger yellow and white papers. Finally, I added one of the greetings that also came with the magazine and added three coordinating punched circles.

Grey Daisies

A quick card today using some pretty yellow and grey patterned papers and an old Digistamp Boutique vase of daisies digi...

The image was coloured with Pro Markers and mounted on a fancy scalloped circle die - isn't it strange how photography changes colours - in real life the vase is exactly the same colour as the yellow patterned paper!!

I'm a bit disappointed with how the background colouring turned out - it looks a bit patchy. I've added a greeting created using KG Sorry Not Sorry font.

I'm playing along with the challenges at:

Tuesday Throwdown #460 - anything goes

Top Dog

I usually only make masculine cards when I get a special request so I thought I would make some for my ever-growing box of 'lockdown' cards...

This fabulous dog topper came with Making Cards Magazine a couple of years ago. I love the colour combo - mustard, red and grey work together really well. I've matted the image on grey card and used a couple of coordinating patterned papers to create a simple layout. the greeting was created in Publisher and I've added a couple of coloured Card Candi as embellishments.

I'm playing along with the challenges at:

Have A Hoot

Today's card uses a really old digi from a company called 'Karleigh Sue' - I was given this to use when I was in a design team some years ago...

This digi owl is so girlie and cute!. I coloured her using promarkers and mounted the image on a die-cut scalloped square. I used coordinating pastel patterned papers from my stash. The greeting was made in Publisher using Copperplate Gothic font and I added some Card Candi.

Another Diamond Wedding

Another Diamond Anniversary card was required this week - for a friend to give her parents. I wanted to create something with a WOW factor so I decided to make an easel card...

I used a large card base - 8 inches square. The grey and white polka dot patterned paper is so subtle and the perfect base to go wild with all the white dies! I've used various swirls as leaves and afew different sized flower dies to create the blooms. A Diamond Anniversary card is crying out for 'diamonds' and I've used plenty of flat-backed gems to add some sparkle.

The numbers are Tattered Lace dies - cut in white and matted on silver mirri card to add even more sparkle. Finally I've added three tiny die cut butterflies.

The greeting was created in Publisher using Monotype Corsiva font - my go to font for wedding and anniversary cards.

Yellow Butterfly

Today's card is another one for my birthday box - a feminine design in shades of sunny yellow:

It's a simple design I've seen all over Pinterest - this is my version The papers are from my scraps box and I've rounded two of the corners on each square.. The foiled butterfly die cut is from a Hunkydory set and I've added a greeting printed in Copperplate Gothic font and a few yellow pearls.

Simple but pretty.

Birthday Cutie

Today's card was made using one of Heather Ellis' super cute girl images...

Isn't she sweet! I've coloured her using pastel Spectrum Noir pens and framed the image with a scalloped oval die. The greeting is a Lili Of The Valley digi.

The patterned papers are ancient - Papermania Retro Floral Colossal Pack - must be about 10 years old! I've added some black flat-backed pearls and a die-cut butterfly as embellishments.
