Arrgh - cards for boys! I think we all dread them a little bit!
Today I needed to make a card for a friend for her BMX bike loving 12 year old...
I searched through all my digi images and decoupage stuff to no avail - I simply couldn't find anything suitable. Then I had a light bulb moment - Mr Google helped me find a free silhouette. I printed the image directly onto the patterned paper. Some parts of the pattern still showed through so I carefully coloured over the image with a black pro-marker and a fine liner.
Yay - a very simple card but exactly what was needed!

Happy Friday everyone!
It's a mild, sunny day up here in the North East - certainly no sign of rain yet.
There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft today ...
As
usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to
join in. Today's sponsor is the fabulous Lizzy Love at the Oddball Art Company - a lovely Etsy store to pick up some seriously cute, and weirdly creepy digital stamps...
This is what I have created using a Oddball image called Penelope...:
I've
used some newly acquired pretty papers from a pad of glittery papers The Range, matted on black paper. I've coloured the image using
co-ordinating pro-markers and added some paper flowers from a mixed pack as embellishments. The scroll leaves are from a Cheery Lynn die and I've added various coloured flat-backed pearls from my stash. The greeting is a digi stamp from Lili Of The Valley.

I'm still on a mission to use up some of the stuff I have received free with magazines over the years..
I think this butterfly topper and coordinating patterned paper and sentiment came with Complete Cardmaking when it was around - I've certainly had them for more than 5 years!
I used a white linen card base and I've tried to keep as much 'white space' as possible while still showing off the gorgeous striped paper. For a touch of bling I've added a strip of silver peel-off and some shiny gems.

I seem to be making a lot of anniversary cards lately but I guess that 'cos there's lots of weddings during the summer months!
I've used my favourite filigree heart die again, in super shiny mirri card - very bling!
I've used some dull silver leaf patterned paper for the background and added a greeting created in Publisher using Monotype Corsiva font. I've used a thick cream linen base and some of the same to mount the heart.
Simple but it has an 'expensive' look to it in real life!

Today's card is a further attempt to use up my ridiculous pile of stash - I've used a Crafts U Print freebie that came with a magazine. It's not my usual style of card but the colour and image really caught my eye.
I do love blue - unfortunately it isn't the most popular colour to use in card making. I've layered this decoupaged image using foam pads then added a little personal touch - some coloured art deco style peel-offs. I've also added a little bling on the head-dress with some tiny pearls coloured blue with a pro-marker. The image is mounted on some blue marble effect patterned paper and the greeting came with the decoupage sheet.
I'm currently making a mixture of cards for an older lady and I'm sure this is ideal.

Today's card is for a colleague at work who is about to move into her first home...
I used one of my favourite house digis from Digistamp Boutique - they are so cute and a dream to colour. My colour scheme was inspired by the challenge this week at Sweet Stampin' TOP 3!
and also by the mood board at Double D Challenges
I used some pastel patterned papers from a pack from The Works, some pale coffee-coloured lace and some heart-shaped pearls coloured to match.

So... finding an unlabelled folder in a carrier bag in my craft room I was quite surprised to find a collection of decoupage images that were all assembled ready to use but forgotten about!
This cutie is from the same company who make the Gorjuss range (Santoro)...
I've used various dies - the polka dot backing paper was cut to the same shape as the card base and matted on candy pink paper. I've added a very old digi sentiment cut with a circle die and three hearts using heart shaped nesting dies. Very simple in style, but a useful addition to my emergency birthday card stash.
