Trick or Treat !

Hello My Lovelies!

It's Friday !!! The end of my first full week back at work after a lovely long break in the Caribbean and I'm back in my craft room.

There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft today...

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in. Today' challenge is being sponsored by the wonderful Robyn's Fetish 

who have supplied a cute halloween digi to play with. I've used this mummy boy image to make a card for my friend's son...

I've fussy cut the mummy image and mounted him on foam pads. I've kept the background simple with a 'full moon' orange circle and some tiny bat stickers and a gravestone sticker I have had for years! The greeting was done using Microsoft Publisher.

30th Shaker

Happy Friday everyone ...

There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft  today...

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in. Like last time, this week's challenge is just for fun but of course the design team can't wait to visit your blogs and see your lovely makes.

Today's inspiration is a 30th shaker card - don'tcha just love pink sequins! Yes - I know it's another 'number' card and my blog is starting to look like an Adele back catalogue but these are the cards I get asked to make over and over again!

The backgroung is faux embossing - I die cut loads of '30s' andstuck them to white card. For the shaker part I used mixed pink sequins and some OHP film - just as good as acetate but considerably cheaper!

Striped 18th

I've neglected my poor blog lately - what with work and the Olympics and life in general I haven't had time to do much more than my design team cards!

I've done yet another 'number' card - seems to be all I'm making at the moment when I do have time to make cards. This one is pretty bright even by my standards...

 

I love the red and white stripes against the red background - a card fit for any Sunderland fan!  I got a large pack of red and white striped card at a recent Ross Papercraft Fair which has proved to be very useful!

Triple Trouble!

Happy Friday everyone ...

Today's inspiration is a cute card I made for a lady at work who has just had triplets - yes - TRIPLETS!!!

 I used a really sweet digi image of a baby boy and repeated it three times, adding some colour with pastel coloured pro-markers. The pale blue polka dot paper is from my stash and I've embellished with a silky blue ribbon and some tiny flatback pearls coloured blue with a pro-marker. 

A very simple card but a total neccessity as have you ever tried to find a 'triplets' card in the shops? There's hardly any!

Quick 70th Card

Today's card was a lot quicker to make than it looks - thank goodness for die-cutting machines and punches!

I used a variety of fancy dies and punches and some pretty floral patterned card that came from Lidl/Aldi - they often have craft stuff by a company called Crelando which is really good value.

Special Couple

Happy Friday everyone -  the new challenge over at Simply Papercraft is back after our short Summer break:

I just love StarStampz digital stamps - what a seriously cute couple! I've used pro-markers to colour the image and I've mounted it on some pale blue and white polka dot paper (to represent snow of course!).

The greeting was created in Microsoft Publisher using Mountains of Christmas font and I've added some die-cut layered Christmas trees as embellishments.

The Olympics have simply taken over my life - I've hardly touched the glitter and glue in the last week but I needed to make a quick 18th Birthday card that someone at work requested last minute...

I wanted a simple masculine look for this card, nothing fussy, so I used a 6x6 kraft base and kraft paper for matting. The blue patterned paper is from Dovecraft's Back To Basics Blue Shades pack (great for masculine cards) and I've die-cut the numbers and stars and the greeting was done in Word using my favourite Copperplate Gothic font.

Die Cut Baptism Card

Today's card is for a friend at work for a baptism she is going to this weekend...

 I used an ornate crucifix die I bought years ago (Marianne Designs I think), a scalloped oval die and a trellis embossing folder. The sentiment was made on the coputer and I've used the palest blue paper I have to as backing to emphasise the cross and the sentiment.

Colourful 40th Birthday

Most of the cards I make for other people are because the person wants a personalised card. Today's is for the son of a work colleague to give to his uncle. The uncle is French, hence the 'ton ton' which is an affectionate French phrase for 'uncle'.

The '40' is hand cut from some lovely glittery papers I found at The Range. I printed '40' on the reverse of the papers so I had a template to cut around. The background is faux embossing using lots of die-cut numbers to make rows of 40s.

I've used one of the fab festive images kindly provided by Crafty Sentiments. As I intend to use it for one of my close circle of friends I've made it girly using shades of pink and lilac. The patterned paper is almost retro - it's very old from The English Paper Company (I thinks that's what they were called!)

Through The Window

Today's card is one requested by a friend at work - a 'Happy New Home' card for her parents.

I bought some die-cut window frames and boxes a while ago at a craft fair and they have been sitting unloved in a bits and bobs box - this seemed the ideal opportunity to use them. I used a brick pattern I found via Google as the background and coloured this with pro-markers. I then 'built up' the window using a grey pice of card for 'inside' the house and a cut doily for the curtains.

The flower box was decorated using punched leaves in various shades of green and some pink gems shaped as flowers that I've had for years. Finally, I added the sun shade and printed a greeting using Copperplate Gothic font.

Have A Super Birthday!

Happy Friday everyone - an exciting one for me as I'm off to Leeds for the weekend - a few drinks, some nice food, a touch of retail therapy and we're off to see a band on Saturday night.

Santa On Wheels!

It's my second go at being a guest designer at Crimbo Crackers and doing this has really pushed me to get an early start on my festive greetings! The challenge is an 'Anything goes' one so get yourself over to the blog and get a head start on your Christmas makes!

Here's my card created with a fabulous Santa on a Motorbike decoupage from I think Kanban 

I've mounted the image on some textured gold paper and added a greeting made in Microsoft Publisher using Hey Pretty Girl font. I like the look of the greeting down the side - makes the layout a bit more unusual. Finally I've added some die cut snowflakes with a central pearl.

60th Birthday Cake
