Party Animal

Happy Friday - and it's a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK which means an extra day off work for most folk!

There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft today ...

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in. Today's sponsor is the fabulous Bugaboo - a lovely place to pick up some crazy images and fun digital stamps...

This is what I have created using an image kindly provided by Bugaboo......

Aren't these shoes fabulous!! I'm not 100% sure which jungle animal the shoes represent but as I had some jungle papers I've gone with cheetah/leopard!

I've coloured the image using pro-markers and used the animal print patterned paper that I got from The Range. I  made a greeting in Publisher using The Urban Way font and embellished with a strip of coordinating card and a die cut bow. Finally, no card is complete without a gem or pearl!!

I've entered this card into the challenges at:

Craft Rocket - movie or book (the Jungle Book!)
Seize The Birthday - anything goes
Crafting When We Can #142 - one for the girls
Crafty Gals Corner #120 - anything goes
The Paper Shelter #291 - birthday card
Digi Choosday #17 - anything goes
Creative Inspirations #273 - one for the girls

So get yourselves over to Simply Papercraft and join in the fun - it's only a click away!

With Love

I'm trying to use up some of the freebies I've received free with magazines over the years so today's card is made using some die cut rose and heart toppers and Kaisercraft papers that came with an old edition of Quick Cards Made Easy...

The greeting die also came free with a magazine but I did manage to buy the swirly scroll die myself!
I've used a very simple layout to show off the pretty dies and papers.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:.

Crafty Sentiments - anything goes
Through The Craft Room Door - anything goes
Crafting From The Heart #156 - anything goes

Birthday Stripes

It's a few weeks since I've had time for crafting on a Saturday but with time on my hands this afternoon I headed over to Less Is More to see this lovely challenge:

I was also very happy to see this colour challenge at CAS-ual Fridays - it's one of my favourite combos:

I used a 3 inch long thin oblong die, cut 7 shapes and coloured 4 of them pink. I used foam pads to give some height and lined them up in the centre of a navy base card.

The Happy Birthday die is from Dee's Distinctively and to add a bit bling I used some coloured pearls.

I'm also entering this card into the challenges at:

Everybody Art - blue and one other colour (pink!!)
Brown Sugar #247 - use a die cut

Digital Daisy

Now for all I love using digital images and I use my computer to create word art and greetings sentiments for my cards, I've never been a great lover of CDs or digi kits. However, needing an 80th birthday card with a daisy theme I came across this kit by Crafts-U-Print...

As far as kits go it was easy to put together, a good size and the image was sharp when I printed it out. I've tried to add my own touches to it by decoupaging the bunting, adding some gems to the flowers, adding glitter to the numbers and creating my own sentiment. But, it is what it is...

On the plus side, the kit comes with a full set of numbers so if I ever need a quick card for any age of birthday, it's just a matter of printing off the components.

I'm pleased with the end result as it's just what the customer asked for but I'm not sure I could do this type of crafting often - it felt a bit like cheating!!

Birthday Girl

Happy Good Friday folks!

And what a wonderfully lazy day it's been - a lovely long lie-in this morning, beautiful cod for lunch and we broke into one of the Easter eggs this afternoon! I found time to have a little play in the craft room and made a quick card using an old digi from I think Heather Ellis. I've used patterned paper from The Range (my new fave shop ever since they opened a store in Sunderland) and I think the greeting stamp is LOTV.

The image is coloured with pro-markers, and I've used rows of pearls to embellish.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Cards and More #182 - monochrome
In The Pink #117 - pearls
Seize The Birthday - use 2 patterned papers
Crafting By Design - girls or flowers
The Paper Shelter #289 - girl power
Addicted to Stamps - make your mark

Neon Butterfly

Flicking through blogland this afternoon, I was glad I was still within the deadline for this lovely sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch...

I love the nice clean lines! I dug out some grey and white striped paper (Papermania's Festive Spots and Stripes Capsule Collection) - subtle colours but a clearly defined stripe. To offset the pastel background I used a neon green butterfly from The Range with some coordinating flat backed pearls. The 'thanks' die is from Whimsey Stamps and I've layered it 3 times.

Wedding Birds

There's a few people I know getting married this year so I've made a start on some cards for my box...

I do like making easel cards - there's definitely a wow factor with them!

I've used a really cute wedding birds decoupage from Kanban. For matting, I've used some coordinating polka dot patterned paper and the die-cut greeting is from Diamondpress. Finally, I've created a faux embossing effect with some floral corner dies and added tiny lilac pearls as embellishments.

Crafty Sentiments Designs - anything goes
Brown Sugar #245 - anything goes

In Deepest Sympathy

Not a good week so far...

When I got to work yesterday morning I found out that over the weekend, two of the lovely ladies I work with had had family bereavements.

I do try to have a few cards in stock for such occasions but my boss asked if I could make her some special cards...

I wanted something classy and simple.

The butterfly die came with a magazine and the ivory linen base card isn't as harsh on the eyes as white would have been. The greeting has been done in Formal436 font and the embellishments are black opaque gems.

This card is for the 'anthing goes' challenges at:

A sad card to make but I think it's essential to let people who have suffered a loss know that your thoughts are with them

Carpe Diem

Some Bunny Loves Ya xx

Today's card is inspired by the challenges at:

Freshly Made Sketches

and

The Paper Players

I've used three strips of washi tape and a cute glittery bunny sticker from The Range. For embellishments, I've added some shiny pearls in coordinating colours. The greeting was created in Publisher.
