Cherry Blossom

I've been bitten by the stamping bug - thanks to Tim Holtz!

I very rarely do rubber stamping as I tend to have two left hands - I get smudges everywhere! But when I finally used a stamping platform (Christmas prezzie) last week, and got pretty good results I dug out all my stamp sets that I've gotten free with magazines...

What I used:

Stamp and Die set - free with Simply Cards and Papercrafts #215

A5 linen card base

Pink patterned paper - from stash

Sentiment - free with a magazine

Flat backed pearls - The Range

I'm playing along with the current challenges at:

Stamping Sensations (May) - beautiful blooms

Paper Players Challenge:

Handstamped Sentiments Challenge #364

Cheers!

So today I had a day off work and as the weather has been dreadful, I played with some unused stash...

Some time last year I won a blog challenge and the prize was a voucher for Clearly Besotted. Now I'm not a natural rubber stamper but their images were so cute I couldn't resist the Mix It Up set with matching dies.

Today they had their first inking!

I'm not a confident stamper but I find using Tim Holtz's Stamp Platform greatly helps!

What I used:

Stamps - Clearly Besotted - Mix it Up (with matching dies)

Coloured with - Spectrum Noir markers

Patterned striped paper - The Range

Circle dies - Spellbinders nesties

Die sentiment - Paper Smooches

Embellishments - flat-backed pearls - The Range

Perfect for a girly birthday!

I'm playing along with the challenges at:

Stinkin' Inkers - Girls just wanna have fun

Aud Sentiments #275 - for the girls (with sentiment)

Passion For Markers #592 - use spots or stripes WINNER

Addicted to Stamps #405 - dies or stencils

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - use die/punches

Thanks for popping in

Snappy Birthday

After a stressful week dealing with family stuff it was nice to do something crafty this afternoon. My head is all over the place and this certainly influenced my card!

Firstly I was inspired by the unusual challenge at Less Is More

So I really sat and (over) thought about this one. I remembered I had a crab die and some glittery crab patterned paper. Being mindful to leave plenty of white space I created this...

Obviously the blue patterned card with glittery crabs represents the sea and the yellow circle represents the sand! After googling 'crab cards' I could see that 'snappy birthday' is the go to greeting for crabs so I used that for my greeting.

And of course coming up to June Birthdays this may be useful for someone whose star sign is Cancer (the crab). Yes - I thought a lot about this one!

What I used:

Linen card base

Crab patterned card - Deco Time

Crab die - Cut and Make

Greeting - created using KG Payphone font

Embellished with 2 googly eyes.

I'm also playing along with the challenges at:

Creative Friday #280 - clean and simple

2 Crafty Critter Crazies - AG with a critter

Pearly Sparkles #62 - clean and simple
