CAS Flowers

Today's card was made with bits from my scraps box...

I've used a scrap of patterned paper, a strip of corrugated paper and two die-cut flowers (Memory Box die). The greeting was created in Publisher.

Isn't it funny how colours photograph a slightly different shade! The base card and the corrugated strip are the same colour in real life!

Marvellous Minnie

Today's card celebrates a very cute mouse we all know...

I'm now on my 6th day of working from home and my daily routine has totally changed. I'm still getting out of bed at the same time but because I no longer have a commute I have more time for crafting! I made this early this morning before I started work.

The Minnie sticker is actually a wall sticker (the set was from Poundland) - I love these stickers because they are matt rather than shiny. I've used some red and white polka dot patterned paper (the same pattern of the dress Minnie usually wears) and I've added a row pearls (one is a mouse head), also from Poundland. I've had these items in my stash for a couple of years now - time to use them!

Paper-pieced Blooms

What a mad week - I haven't had a spare moment to craft as I have started to work from home. My dining table now is covered with files, a monitor a keyboard and a laptop - no room for crafting! Still, nothing stops us playing with our stash for long - a small table in the living room is my new crafting area (and I can watch TV while I craft!).

Today's card is a birthday card for a friend to give to her Aunt. I've used an old digi-image from Digistamp Boutique which I have paper-pieced using floral patterned papers.from Dovecraft's Floral Muse collection. They have a lovely vintage feel to them. I've embellished using some coordinating ribbon and flat-backed pearls.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Andy's 40th

Oh my poor neglected blog! That's what happens when you have a lovely long break in Morocco then come back to a ton of work! The crafting takes a back seat.

Never mind - I'm back playing with paper now!

I had a request for a strange card - for a lorry driver who likes boxing. Hmmm - how to combine those two things...

So I found an outline of a truck online to use as a digi stamp I coloured and fussy cut the image and created a background scene using subtly patterned green and light blue papers. To incorporate the boxing element, I included some dangly boxing gloves in the truck window (do these things have a name - I remember people had fluffy dice in the 70s!)

Finally I added a number plate with the recipient's name and '40' on it and some clouds in the sky.

To my uber-critical eye this card looks a bit amateurish but the person who ordered it was delighted!
