Gorjuss Foxy

Today's card is for a lovely girl I work with called Angela who loves foxes. It's her birthday on Saturday (same day as mine) so the perfect image to use on a birthday card for her is Gorjuss Foxy by Santoro. I love all of the Gorjuss girls but this is definitely one of my faves...

I've coloured her using Pro-markers and used some lovely glittery papers from a pack from The Range. I've added some strips of black shiny pearls as embellishments and added a digi greeting which I think was a freebie from Pink Cat Studio many moons ago.

I'm entering this into the challenges at -

Pretty Penelope

Happy Friday everyone!

It's a mild, sunny day up here in the North East - certainly no sign of storm Doris that the media has threatened this week.
There's a new challenge over at Simply Papercraft today ...

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in. Today's sponsor is the fabulous Lizzy Love at the Oddball Art Company - a lovely Etsy store to pick up some seriously cute, and weirdly creepy digital stamps...

This is what I have created using a Oddball image called Penelope...:

I've used some newly acquired pretty papers from a Happiness and Sunshine paper pack from The Range, matted on black paper. I've coloured the image using co-ordinating pro-markers and added some paper flowers from a mixed pack as embellishments. The leaves are punched and I've added various sized flat-backed pearls from my stash. The greeting is a digi stamp I've had for years.

I've entered this card into the challenges at:

Creative Inspirations #269 - petals and pearls
Passion For Promarkers - use something new (papers)
Through The Craftroom Door - AG for week of 21/02
Classic Design Team Open - AG February

Orange Bouquet

Orange is one of my favourite colours to used in cards - it's so vibrant. I've been making a stash of Mother's Day cards to take into work (very popular with the men who can't be bothered to go card shopping) and I've made a few in this design but this orange and pink one is my favourite...

The image and sentiment are from the wonderful Digistamp Boutique and I've kept it very simple with just a few orange pearls as embellishments.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #404 - Mother's Day
Cute Card Thursday #466 - florals
Southern Girls #154 - nature inspired
Creative Inspirations #269 - petals and pearls

Houndstooth Washi Thanks

Today's card is inspired by the challenges at:

Less Is More - alphabet
The Paper Players - sentiment as the main focus
CAS(E) This Sketch

Earlier this week, I came across these fun tapes in Lidl - I do love finding crafty bits and bob while buying groceries! They were only 99p for each set so I got a few...

I used the black set to make this thanks card...

The die is from Whimsey stamps and the heart is a punch that I haven't used in years.

Birthday Balloon

Flicking through blogland this morning, I noticed a great sketch at Sunday Stamps...

I am such a fan of nice, straightforward sketches like this, without any weird bits on them!! Using some glittery patterned papers I bought from The Range, and a super cute digi image from Heather Ellis, I made another birthday card...

It's soo difficult to catch the glittery shimmer in the papers but it is there!! I coloured with pro-markers then fussy cut the image and added a greeting done in Hobo font. Finally, I added a couple of strips of silver peel-offs along the top and the bottom of the red paper.

I'm also entering this card into the challenges at:

Brown Sugar #238 - birthday
QKR Stampede #231 - AG plus add sparkle
Alphabet Challenge - 'Y' for you choose

Birthday Cake

I've had a lovely day off work, pottering about the house, sorting out a box full of 'craft stuff yet to use'!

I recall buying these Anita's foiled decoupage toppers last summer from a sale bin thinking they would come in handy one day...

I was greatly inspired by the lovely sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches - a very neat and CAS design...

Using all of the layers would have been too rasied for the card I've made so I just used one of the larger images and a couple of the decoupage bits...

I used some co-ordinating polka-dot washi tape, added a greeting done in 'Hey Pretty Girl' font and various sized coloured pearls.

I'm also entering this card into the challenges at:

Crafting By Designs - polka dots

LOVE U

As Valentine's Day quickly approaches I thought I'd better get a card made for the other half while he is out at the football...

I've used nothing but dies here - the background hearts die is from Sissix, the large heart is from a hearts matting pack, the 'love' is from Diamond Press and the 'u' is from and old alphabet die set.

I've used a black card base to try to make the overall look a bit more masculine. I'm really pleased with how the bold red jumps out against the white background!

Im entering this card into the challenges at:

Just Us Girls #380 - hearts - Chic of the Week!
That's Crafty - I heart you
4 Crafty Chicks #337 - love

Hunkydory Flowers

Today's card was made with some leftover papers from a Hunkydory Flutterby Wishes Collection pack that came free with a magazine .

I've printed the greeting in Candy Round font on the same paper as the image - I don't know about you but I find Hunkydory products never co-ordinate with other brands. Finally, I've added some clear gems to add some sparkle. Not the most complex card I've ever made but a great way to use up leftovers!

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Crafty Gals Corner #108 - add some sparkle

Time To Celebrate

Today's card use one of my favourite digi images from A Day For Daisies...

I printed her onto linen card and coloured her using pro-markers in shades inspired by the colour challenge at The Colour Throwdown...

I printed the balloons again and fussy cut them and used foam pads to create some dimension. the sentiment is a very old digi - not sure where I acquired that!

I've also entered today's challenge at Less Is More...

1 or more balloons on your project

This is what I have created using a Melonheadz digi image of a little girl superhero:

I've used some glittery polka dot patterned paper from a mixed pad from The Range and some red washi tape left over from Christmas cards. I've coloured the image using co-ordinating pro-markers and added some punched stars as embellishments. The greeting was created using BEBAS font.

Awesome!

I needed to make a birthday card for a young lad who loves Lego - unlike me - I think it's evil, especially when you stand on a piece in bare feet!!

I found an outline image of a Lego man via google that works as a digi image and coloured him using primary coloured pro-markers. I then carefully fussy-cut him. For the background, I created a Lego 'base' using dark green card and lots of circles, using foam pads to create dimension...

As I was making this, all I could think of was that annoying 'Everything Is Awesome' song from the Lego movie - hence the greeting!

I'm entering this creation into the challenges at:

Brown Sugar #234 - anything goes
QKR Stampede #227 - one for the kids

Valentine

I don't often make St. Valentine's Day cards but I was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch

Using a gorgeous heart die that I got with a magazine at a recent craft fair (Die Cutting Essentials - was an old issue so I got it for 4 quid!) and a square border die I created this...

I've added a greeting done in 'BEBAS' font and some red pearls ( I had to use one more than the sketch to balance the layout).

As well as the sketch challenge, I'm entering this card into the 'anything goes' challenges at:

Brown Sugar Challenge #233
Inspiration Destination Challenge #118
Penny's Paper-crafty Challenge #311

Big 4 0

For Christmas I was lucky to be spoilt with lots of crafty presents. My faves by far were two sets of large number dies from Tattered Lace. They are designed to make table numbers for weddings etc but I knew they would look fab on number birthday cards...

I wanted a card that was shiny and girly but not fussy. Using a 7x7 inch scallopped base, I used some cerise card for the numbers with a silver mirri-card 'shadow'. The patterned polka dot card is from Buzzcraft   and the greeting was done in Copperplate Gothic font. For a touch of decoration, I've added some peel-off shiny dots at the top of each number.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Fab 'N' Funky Challenge #333 - birthday with a number
Crafting From The Heart #142 - anything goes
Dream Valley #147 - something new (dies)

An Early Start!

OK - so I started my Christmas cards very late in 2016 - I'd made a few throughout the year but I still ended up making the majority of my cards in November and early December! Not good for the stress levels leading up to Christmas!

So here's the first Christmas card for 2017...

I've used a similar layout to some of my 2016 designs but this exercise is more about getting cards made rather than being innovative about design!

I used the lovely wash tape I found in Lidl, a Diesire bauble die, a Memory Box bow die and some flat backed pearls.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

ABC Christmas Challenge - B is for ....bauble
The Crafty Addicts - monochrome
The Merry Christmas Challenge - lots of red
Dies R Us Challenge #64 - anything goes
The Crafter's Cafe - monochrome
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - clean and simple
