Boy Racer

Another masculine birthday card for my box...

The sports car topper and patterned paper came from an old issue of Making Cards Magazine. I fussy-cut the image and mounted it on a slate grey background using foam pads. I cut a strip of patterned paper and matted it on larger yellow and white papers. Finally, I added one of the greetings that also came with the magazine and added three coordinating punched circles.

Grey Daisies

A quick card today using some pretty yellow and grey patterned papers and an old Digistamp Boutique vase of daisies digi...

The image was coloured with Pro Markers and mounted on a fancy scalloped circle die - isn't it strange how photography changes colours - in real life the vase is exactly the same colour as the yellow patterned paper!!

I'm a bit disappointed with how the background colouring turned out - it looks a bit patchy. I've added a greeting created using KG Sorry Not Sorry font.

Top Dog

I usually only make masculine cards when I get a special request so I thought I would make some for my ever-growing box of 'lockdown' cards...

This fabulous dog topper came with Making Cards Magazine a couple of years ago. I love the colour combo - mustard, red and grey work together really well. I've matted the image on grey card and used a couple of coordinating patterned papers to create a simple layout. the greeting was created in Publisher and I've added a couple of coloured Card Candi as embellishments.

Today's card uses a really old digi from a company called 'Karleigh Sue' - I was given this to use when I was in a design team some years ago...

This digi owl is so girlie and cute!. I coloured her using promarkers and mounted the image on a die-cut scalloped square. I used coordinating pastel patterned papers from my stash. The greeting was made in Publisher using Copperplate Gothic font and I added some Card Candi.

Another Diamond Wedding

Another Diamond Anniversary card was required this week - for a friend to give her parents. I wanted to create something with a WOW factor so I decided to make an easel card...

I used a large card base - 8 inches square. The grey and white polka dot patterned paper is so subtle and the perfect base to go wild with all the white dies! I've used various swirls as leaves and afew different sized flower dies to create the blooms. A Diamond Anniversary card is crying out for 'diamonds' and I've used plenty of flat-backed gems to add some sparkle.

The numbers are Tattered Lace dies - cut in white and matted on silver mirri card to add even more sparkle. Finally I've added three tiny die cut butterflies.

The greeting was created in Publisher using Monotype Corsiva font - my go to font for wedding and anniversary cards.

It's a simple design I've seen all over Pinterest - this is my version The papers are from my scraps box and I've rounded two of the corners on each square.. The foiled butterfly die cut is from a Hunkydory set and I've added a greeting printed in Copperplate Gothic font and a few yellow pearls.

Isn't she sweet! I've coloured her using pastel Spectrum Noir pens and framed the image with a scalloped oval die. The greeting is a Lili Of The Valley digi.

Diamond Wedding

My friend's parents are celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary this week. 60 years married - how wonderful is that!!

I've made a personalised card for them complete with names and the date. I've used a very subtle green trellis patterned paper for the background and used a fancy border square die to mount the Memory box delicate die-cut heart. To emphasize the diamond theme I have arranged the square as a diamond and used tiny gems to decorate the heart.

Really Old Stash - Butterfly Birthday

Today's card is another birthday card for my work box (when I eventually go back to 'work'!!).

I've used some really old stash - Hot Off The Press papers that came free with a magazine years ago. Here is the last card I made with them.

I used my lovely new butterfly die again - I am totally loving butterflies at the moment...

I used ivory linen card for the base - I think white would have been too stark. I cut two butterflies - one in patterned paper and the other in the same red paper used for the circle matting and the scallopped border.I love the background paper - different stripes of tape, patterns and stars.

Finally I added a greeting in KG Sorry Not Sorry font that I created in Publisher.

Gorjuss Blue Birthday

Today's card uses one of the many cute Gorjuss decoupage characters I have in my stash in my favourite shades of blue...

There's something a bit Christmassy about her so I think this card will be great for a Winter birthday.

I used a scallopped oval diecut shape to mount the decoupaged image onto . The background patterned papers - different shades of blue and white polka dots - are from my stash.

I added more die cut decoration with scallopped borders and star shaped corners. Finally I added the greeting which was created in Publisher using KG Sorry Not Sorry font and some black opaque gems.

Birthday Wishes

I loved this simple sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 as soon as I saw it...

I do love a nice symmetrical sketch! I can't cope with complicated sketches with odd squiggly bits on them!

I used some grey and white polka dot patterned  paper for the background. The stem and leaves are part of a Memory Box die. I cut the original flowers off and instead used some flowers created from a set of Marianne dies. I used dull silver brads for the centre of the flowers and some pink flat backed pearls as embellishments. I also added some tiny die cut butterflies with pearl 'bodies'. The sentiment was created in Publisher using Marketing Script font.

My colour combo was inspired by today's challenge at Just Add Ink

Sugar and Spice Butterfly

Another card today using 'old' stash - Dovecraft's Sugar and Spice paper collection which must be about 5 years old...

I used an aqua colored piece of A4 linen card for the base and added three strips of patterned paper from the pack.

I used a die-cut butterfly from a set of place cards I found in the wedding section of Home Bargains, which I coloured  using an aqua pro marker so it matched the base card. I then mounted this on die cut circles and added some flat-backed turquoise pearls as embellishments. The greeting was created in Publisher.

Celebrate With Cake

As being confined to the house has stopped me making my weekly trip to The Range I am having to use up some of the mountain of stash I already own...

I found a die cut set of cake images from Kanban I have owned for at least five years! I mounted three of the images using die cut circles and used some lovely red and white spotty patterned paper for the background.

The greeting came with the set and I added some peel-off border for a further touch of silvery sheen.

Pink Butterfly

Today's card was inspired by the wonderful sketch at The Paper Players...

I went down the pink and feminine route with this one:

I used a pink marbled designer card for the background (The Range)- it also has a glittery embossed stripe on it - it's very pretty in the sunlight. I die-cut two of the butterflies - one in a pink card similar to the background and one in a pink and silver patterned card and layered them. For the 'body' I used silvery grey flat-backed pearls.

I mounted the butterfly on white linen card matted on a dull silver paper - I cut the greeting in the same paper - it's from a die set I found in The Works.
